1:50 Goodwood
The opener on ITV is a Group 3 for the 2 year-old fillies over the 7f trip. My selection is CLITHEROE (6/1 with William Hill). She was well backed on her debut suggesting her homework has been good. She finished a promising second only beaten a head by Dubai Jewel and the winner that day also looks like a useful filly. The experience might just have been the difference that day and it was Dubai Jewels fourth run compared to Clitheroe’s debut. Clitheroe will come on for that effort you’d like to think and I expect this daughter of Ribchester to go close in the opener.2:05 Beverley
We head to Beverley next for the 2:05 and it is the Silver Cup Handicap over the extended 1m1f trip. The one I like is TITIAN (9/2 with bet365). The duo of William Haggas and Tom Marquand come alive at this time of year and they are currently both operating at a healthy strike rate. Titian has useful form from his 2 year-old campaign and if he has improved from 2 to 3 which I believe will be the case, this mark of 86 will be well within reach.2:25 Goodwood
The 2:25 at Goodwood is another 7f handicap for punters to get stuck into. I like the favourite here ARATUS NB (5/2 with William Hill). The son of Free Eagle is progressing well throughout the season and is still unexposed. He settled better in his last race which suggests to me he’s learning on the job and he looks set for bigger things than handicaps in my opinion. That win last time out at Newbury was pretty decisive and I think that’s a race that will work out well. He can continue his progression up the ladder and win this contest off only a 4lb higher mark.2:45 Newmarket
We head to Newmarket for one race next and that is 6f listed race known as the Hopeful Stakes. The one I like is KHAADEM NAP (8/1 with Paddy Power). He’s certainly a quirky sort and he’s the type that will improve for the fitting of these first-time blinkers. The ground will be a huge positive for him as his best form has come on a quicker surface and this course and distance winner has the ability to go very close here today.3:00 Goodwood
Just the five runners are set to go to post for the 3.00 race. A 1m6f Group 3 contest called the March Stakes. My selection is NAGANO (10/11 with Betfred). I just think he’s the best horse in this race and he’s a lot more unexposed than some of his rivals here. He is proven over this unique course as he won a handicap over 1m4f here on his latest start. I think the step-up in trip will be fine and he’ll be tough to beat.[akurai_table reviews=”7171″ terms=”long” lazy_logo=”true”]
