Mick Fitzgerald lives and breathes horse racing. The Irishman’s career as a jockey lasted over 15 years, becoming a National Hunt rider aged 18 and first breaking onto the scene as a pro in the early 1990s. He quickly became Nicky Henderson’s star man, and won a number of big winners working for the trainer, including the 1996 Grand National on Rough Quest, and the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 1999 on See More Business. He saw plenty of success at Cheltenham, enjoying 14 winners across his career, and a total of 1,300 winners right across his career, making him one of the most successful jump jockeys of all-time. His career came abruptly to an end in 2008 after falling at the second fence in the Grand National, sustaining spinal injuries that threatened to leave him paralised. Following his retirement, he has enjoyed a successful punditry career, first with At The Races and Channel 4, before joining the ITV Racing team in 2017. Alongside this, he’s also an advisor at Nicky Henderson’s yard, as well as being involved with the British Racing School, helping young aspiring jockeys make it in the sport.Bet On Mick Fitzgerald’s Tips With A Free Bet
