Cheltenham Festival Each-way Accumulator Tip at 11780/1 – The Best Bet for each day of the Festival

The Cheltenham Festival is just around the corner and although racing has endured a horrible time of late, the festival will no doubt be the spectacle we will look forward to more than ever. With many strong favourites and star performers appearing this year, I will look to find a bet for each day of the festival that should give you great value and hopefully cross the line first. Bet on these four selections in an each-way accumulator and you could be sitting on a small fortune come the end of the week. The accumulator at the time of writing pays over 11000/1!

Day One – Tuesday 16th March

Honeysuckle staked her Champion Hurdle claims when storming away to win the Irish Champion Hurdle. This mare and the other superstar mare, Epatante, may battle it out just as Honeysuckle did with Benie Des Dieux in last year’s Mare’s Hurdle. But at 14/1, I think you should look to Silver Streak. This horse has done very little wrong this season and is an experienced horse for trainer Evan Williams. The grey beat Verdana Blue in the Racing TV Hurdle earlier in the season and returned to Kempton in December to beat the fantastic Epatante in the Christmas Hurdle. Silver Streak was unfortunately carried out in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle and was beaten by a nose in the Unibet International Hurdle in December. The 8-year-old has had a solid season and has form at the festival, with a third-place finish in the 2019 Champion Hurdle at a big price behind Espoir D’Allen. He may not have the turn of foot like Honeysuckle or the frontrunning power of Goshen, but Silver Streak has proven he can beat top horses on big occasions and will come into the festival fresh after a break stretching back to boxing day. I think 14/1 is a more than fair price and you could do much worse than a horse who has beaten one of the best hurdlers in Britain this season and has good form at the course. Day 1 Tip – Silver Streak (3.05pm) each-way – 16/1 with William Hill.

Day Two – Wednesday 17th March

My next selection comes in the second feature race of the week; the Champion Chase. This was a depleted and disappointing race last season with very little competition, nonetheless, it was won with a fantastic performance from Politologue. Chacun Pour Soi is the odds-on favourite here and this is justified with his monstrous performance in the Ladbrokes Dublin Chase at the Dublin Racing Festival. However, the nine-year-old has never been to Cheltenham which may not be a massive issue, but I believe course specialist Put The Kettle On could be the one to exploit this inexperience. Put The Kettle On battled away to win last year’s Arkle and the seven-year-old mare has won on all three appearances at Cheltenham. Trained by Henry De Bromhead, the mare beat Duc Des Genievres in the Shloer Chase in November in another strong battle up the hill. The Arkle has produced many Champion Chase winners such as Moscow Flyer, Sprinter Sacre and Altior. Put The Kettle On is not in the same league as these horses however all of these points are strongly in favour of this 10/1 shot. She will have to find eight lengths on Chacun Pour Soi having finished third in the Ladbrokes Dublin Chase, but if there was a course where Put The Kettle On could make up the ground, Cheltenham would be it. Day 2 Tip – Put the Kettle On (3.05pm) each-way – 10/1 with bet365.

Day Three – Thursday 18th March

My selection on this day is Min in the Ryanair Chase. This fantastic servant to trainer Willie Mullins won this race last year after a superb ride from Paul Townend. Min has been there and done it, he is a seven-time Grade One winner with his best performance coming in the JLT Chase at Aintree in 2019, destroying the field by 20 lengths. In the Ladbrokes Dublin Chase Min pulled up after some poor jumping, there could be a suspicion that we have seen the best of Min after this display in February. But in the last few years, Min has been a far better horse over two miles and four furlongs, compared to a trip of just over two miles. This is why he could be on course for another good run in the Ryanair. It will be a competitive race, just as it was last year, with the likes of Allaho and Imperial Aura likely to be his rivals. For what Min has achieved and with what he has produced at the festival before, 6/1 is a very good price. Whether Townend rides him or not, Min has the class of a champion and this is my bet for the third day at the Cheltenham festival. Day 3 Tip – Min (2.30pm) each-way – 6/1 with Betfred.

Day Four – Friday 19th March

My fourth selection comes in the brand new Mare’s Chase on the final day, and my vote goes for the Jonjo O’Neill-trained Annie Mc. This is a very solid each-way selection for a horse that has picked herself up and performed very well with her last two runs at Doncaster and Warwick. Annie Mc has been disappointing in graded company in two appearances at Cheltenham and one at Aintree, including last year’s Marsh Novice’s Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. But in her last two runs, the mare has jumped superbly and won by long distances. She has shown vast improvement and I think the yard has prepared her brilliantly for the Mare’s Chase. This seven-year-old has won five out of her eight chase appearances and will be flying the flag for the Coral Champions Club ownership group. Elimay leads the betting but this new race could be made for Annie Mc. At 8/1, she has strong each-way claims and could be the best of the rest. Day 4 Tip – Annie Mc (4.15pm) each-way – 8/1 with Paddy Power.
