THURSDAY CHEPSTOW ITV RACING TIPS – RACING LEAGUE RACE-BY-RACE PREVIEW
5:30 Chepstow – Racing League 15 Handicap Cl3 (3yo+ 0-90) 6f
PROFIT REFUSED (11/2) can land the spoils for Team Ireland and Ollie Sangster’s charge comes into this contest in good form. The Profitable filly has won twice from four starts for her current handler following a switch from Ireland, scoring on the back of a break at Wetherby and adding to her tally at Chepstow in June. Both those wins came over seven furlongs, but she showed six furlongs to be no issue with a near-miss over that trip at Newmarket. Only beaten a head there behind Angel Shared, she is only 2lbs higher here albeit in a slightly stronger race; while she has to concede weight all round to her rivals. However, she acts on the ground and this is a track that often suits front-runners. She can give a good account under Danny Tudhope who takes the reins on the four-year old.6:00 Chepstow – Racing League 16 Handicap Cl4 (3yo+ 0-85) 1m
GREAT BLASKET (13/2) might be worth chancing quickly turned out by Dr Richard Newland just eight days on from a win at Sandown. That victory saw the Gregorian gelding’s second win in his last three starts, having also struck over C&D in June. He ran out a ready winner latest, scoring by just over two lengths from Dapper Gee Gee, having got to the front at the furlong pole and keeping on strongly. He can race off the same mark here and assuming this latest run doesn’t come too soon then he can take advantage of his current rating before going up in the weights for future runs. He has won from higher in the past so is well-treated on his best form off this mark and with no issues over the ground he can go close.6:30 Chepstow – Racing League 17 Handicap Cl2 (3yo+) 7f
GREAT ACCLAIM (9/2) burst back to winning form equipped with first-time blinkers in a valuable race at Goodwood eight days ago and turned out quickly Eve Johnson Houghton’s charge is taken to double up. The Aclaim gelding gained a narrow neck verdict over Cracking Gold, helping to force the pace and finding plenty to hold off all challengers. That form was boosted by Rhoscolyn, who finished down the field, winning the Golden Mile at the beginning of the month. He had been running well in defeat prior to that victory and he’s a former course winner; while he has a penalty to defy as well as the quick turnround, he arrives in decent nic,k and there’d be no real shock if he makes his presence felt again, assuming the headgear has the same effect as previously.7:00 Chepstow – Racing League 18 Handicap Cl4 (3yo+ 0-80) 7f
BELIEVE YOU ME (10/1, EW) has a good record here and although the Make Believe mare has a career-high mark to defy she does arrive in good fettle and may be capable of finding a little more improvement to maintain her winning run. Heather Main’s charge has won three times over C&D and went close over the track and trip back in May on her second outing of the campaign where she was denied only by one length by Ultramarine. She followed up that near-miss with another at Brighton, beaten a similar margin by Time Patrol, but she made no mistake latest at Epsom. On that occasion, she struck by almost two lengths from Havana Mojito, overcoming a track disadvantage, and she had a subsequent dual-winner back in third. This will be tougher back up in class off this mark, but in her present good form she could be worth chancing to go in again at her favourite track.7:30 Chepstow – Racing League 19 Handicap Cl4 (3yo+ 0-85) 5f
JACQUELINA’s (20/1, EW) form figures this term make for mixed reading, but the Heeraat mare goes particularly well here and has won off higher marks in the past, so Phil McEntee’s charge is taken to get back on the scoresheet at her favourite track. Boasting three wins and two places from six starts here, she struck her last win when going in over C&D last June, beating Howzak by three lengths from a mark 2lbs higher than her current racing. She hasn’t hit those heights this term, but she did finish a close third at Nottingham on her penultimate star,t and that winne,r along with the fourth horse home, have both won again since. That race did rather fall apart, though, as she went off quite hard and set the race up for the winner; she may have been feeling the effects of that effort when disappointing at Newmarket three days later and she’s been given a bit more of a break so ought to be fresher coming into this race. She’s been dropped 2lbs following that last run so she’s well-treated on old winning form as she’s won off 75 before and given her good record here she might be worth chancing to post another big run even though this is a deeper race than those she’s used to contesting.8:00 Chepstow – Racing League 20 Handicap (GBBPlus) Cl3 (3yo+ 0-90) 1m4f
PER CONTRA (14/1, EW) has finished in the frame in four of his last five starts and the Footstepsinthesand gelding could now get some reward for his consistency. Tim Easterby’s charge found only The Reverend too strong at Ripon two starts ago in a stronger race than this and followed up with another good run when beaten two lengths into third behind Beylerbeyi at York twelve days ago where he led into the final furlong but unable to sustain his effort. That rival reopposes on significantly worse terms here. That winner has gone in again since to give the form a boost and he is still a relatively lightly-raced sort who could yet have more to give. A previous course winner for Ollie Sangster prior to joining this yard, he remains well-handicapped on his old form and if continuing his current consistent spell of form then he could go close here.8:30 Chepstow – Racing League 21 Handicap (GBBPlus) Cl3 (3yo+ 0-90) 1m2f
ROGUE IMPACT (13/2) was thought worthy of a crack at the Epsom Derby but understandably found that company too hot to handle; the Study Of Man gelding can get back to winning ways now following a near-miss when last seen at Thirsk last month. The lightly-raced colt has had just five career starts, and James Owen’s charge made a winning debut for the yard following a move from Peter Chapple-Hyam when successful at Lingfield in April, beating Al Wasi Storm and Ghaiyy,a who has won three times since. His next two outings came in Listed and Group One company, where he cut little ice in either, but he was appreciative of the drop in class latest, where he was beaten just a neck by Topteam, outbattled by the winner. Both the third and fourth horses home in that race have won since and only 3lbs higher here he may still have more improvement to come so a big effort wouldn’t come as a huge shock.Get a £20 Free Bet for Today’s Racing:

Racing League Tips 2025 – Your Essential Guide
Over the next six weeks, the Racing League adds some spice to the horse racing calendar, transforming Thursday evenings with exciting racing action. Seven teams will compete to be crowned Racing League champions, where more than £2 million in prize money will be up for grabs across the event’s 42 races. The Racing League started back in 2021 in a bid to attract a new, younger audience to the Sport Of Kings and this year will be the fifth since inception and the team of Wales & The West will be seeking to increase their dominance in the competition with a third win in the series and also successfully defend the crown they won twelve months ago.Racing League Fixtures 2025
The 2025 Racing League takes place on six consecutive Thursday evening meetings, starting at Yarmouth and ending at Southwell. The six fixtures comprising the Racing League are as follows:- Raceweek 1 – July 24 – Yarmouth
- Raceweek 2 – July 31 – Wolverhampton
- Raceweek 3 – August 7 – Chepstow
- Raceweek 4 – August 14 – Windsor
- Raceweek 5 – August 21 – Newcastle
- Raceweek 6 – August 28 – Southwell
How does the Racing League Work?
- Each of the seven teams have a team manager who decides on team selection for each race.
- Each manager can enter two runners in each race from their trainer pool, except for racing at Wolverhampton, whose track conditions limit the number of runners to a maximum field of 13 runners.
- Every race in Racing League should then have a maximum field of 14 runners aside from those at Wolverhampton. Each race is a handicap, although the grade of each race will vary and races will take place between 5f and 1m 6f.
Racing League Scoring System
Each race carries a maximum 100-point pool, split from first place all the way down to tenth place. The team that accumulates the most points from the 42 scheduled races will take top honours and be crowned Racing League champions. For each race, the points are as follows:- 🥇1st place – 25pts
- 🥈2nd place – 18pts
- 🥉3rd place – 15pts
- 4th place -12pts
- 5th place – 10pts
- 6th place – 8pts
- 7th place – 6pts
- 8th place – 3pts
- 9th place – 2pts
- 10th place – 1pt
