My first selection comes in the opening race, the Supreme Novices Hurdle over 2m.
The one I like is MYSTICAL POWER for the Willie Mullins and Mark Walsh combination. He was last seen bolting up in the Grade 2 Moscow Flyer Novices Hurdle which is a race Mullins likes to target one of his best novice hurdlers at.
He shown a potent turn of foot to win that pretty decisively and if he can come on for the run as well as some of Mullins’ other Grade 1 hopes have, he looks sure to go close.
He’ll have to brush up his jumping but I think the stronger pace here will suit in that regard and he’s the one I like here.

My next selection comes in the Arkle and it is GAELIC WARRIOR. You have to be a forgiven soul based on his last effort but he is by far the most talented horse in this race and if he’s anywhere near his best form, he’ll take a lot of stopping. The jumping to the right is a concern of course, but he’s ran two decent races in the last two festivals finishing second on both occasions.
He’s a better chaser and I think the 2 mile trip will suit him wel as Townend can just get on with things. The soft ground will suit and I’m happy to back the best horse in the race at the price he’s available at.

We head to the Ultima for our next selection and the one I like is TRELAWNE. A connection in the yard tells me Bailey believes he is the most talented out of his two runners if he can get his head in the right place.
I think he has the right man on board for that in Harry Cobden. He’s run at a decent level this year over shorter trips and I think this step up to 3 miles will bring out further improvement. He is another who will relish the soft ground and if he can get a nice early position I think he’ll go close in a race that often goes to one of the market leaders.
5:30 Cheltenham
My final selection comes in the finale and it is MR VANGO. He is a big price but I think this race is going to suit him very well. He is another who will enjoy the soft ground and he relished the step up to a marathon distance last time out when bolting up by 60 lengths. He jumps well and goes from the front and that’s a good place to be in a race of this nature. He won’t be stopping and hopefully the first time cheek-pieces can squeeze out further improvement. Gina Andrews takes the ride and she’s a decent amateur jockey for this race.
It’ll be a fairytale story for the Bradstock family and I’m confident he’ll run a big race for them at a huge price.
