1:30 Chester
The 1:30 from Chester is a wide open Class 2 handicap over an extended 7f. My selection is REVICH (11/2). A front runner who is ideally suited by this tight turning front runners track as his record shows. He has the perfect draw in stall 1 to bounce out and make all. Useful claimer Harry Davies takes 7lb off and trainer Richard Spencer has his yard in decent form.1:50 Market Rasen
Our jumps race today comes from Market Rasen and 7 runners are set to go to post for this 3m handicap chase. I like ROYAL PRETENDER (3/1) here for the Alan King stable. A consistent sort who never seems to run a bad race. He was unlucky last time out going down by a short head to One True King but I think that’s pretty useful form. He now returns to chasing off his hurdles mark which is ideal and I think he’ll appreciate the quicker ground more than his rivals will here.2:05 Chester
The 2:05 contest is another decent handicap, this time over the extended 1m2f distance. I’ll give MUTJABA (5/2) a second chance here. A well fancied favourite who disappointed in the Lincoln but this race isn’t half as competitive as this contest. He was only beaten 4l in the Lincoln so it wasn’t a disaster and prior to that he had won all three career starts. He is still unexposed and I think he can resume winning ways today.2:40 Chester
It’s Group 2 action next up as we have the Huxley Stakes over the same trip as our previous contest. My selection is MAJESTIC DAWN (11/2). He is the pace angle in here and I think it’ll be a soft lead. I’m hoping Hornby can stack them up before turning into the straight and trying to steal it from the front. The horse has won a Cambridgeshire from the front so he’s more than capable. He was unlucky last time out adopting similar tactics to finish second and hopefully he can go one better today in a smaller field.3:15 Chester
The feature of the week is next up, the unique Chester Cup over 2m2f. My selection is SOLENT GETAWAY (9/2) NAP. He will have definitely been laid out for this for the Hugo Palmer team. A course winner here at Chester who won’t have a problem staying the trip, he will sit prominently which is where you want to be. I find it hard to see him out the frame from an ideal draw in stall 7. Ever Given was a decent winner for the stable on Wednesday and the yard were hinting they had stronger chances on Friday which could be telling.3:45 Chester
The finale is a trappy 5f Conditional Stakes contest. I think FLAMING RIB (9/4) NB can provide a quick fire double for the stable. A winner on his last 4 starts last season, he reappeared behind Perfect Power over 7f beating 5l. That would have blown the cobwebs away and he now returns to 5f which is more his trip. Tough to beat in my opinion round here.ITV Racing Free Bets
