The last ITV Racing tips before the 2022 Cheltenham Festival takes in seven races from Wolves and Sandown and as well as our tips, this is the perfect time to collect some free bets to use on Cheltenham next week. Things get underway at 1.31pm from Wolves where there is a flat card on the all weather track. As is always the way the weekend before Cheltenham, the racing isn’t the best of quality over the jumps but we still have four live races from Sandown to get stuck into. Before we start, these are the offers that you can get now, and save the free bets for Cheltenham if you wish:

1:31 Wolves

The first race on ITV is a 6f handicap on the AW track. My selection here is ABOVE (6/1). A decent winner last time at Chelmsford from the front despite being a little keen, I think there’s a chance he’ll get an easy lead again today. He goes well fresh and trainer Stuart Williams excels with AW sprinters.

1:50 Sandown

An open looking contest over at Sandown, the 1:50 is a novices handicap hurdle ran over 2m4f. The one I like is KNAPPERS HILL (9/2). Certainly the classiest horse in the race, I think he’s capable of defying top weight here. He was a good 6th in the Betfair Hurdle which is a race that usually provides strong form clues throughout the remainder of the season. I think conditions won’t hold any fears and with the Nicholls team back in rude form, I think he’ll be hard to keep out the frame.

2:05 Wolves

The 2:05 from Wolves is a handicap over the extended 1m trip. My idea of the winner is HAFEET ALAIN (5/1). I was impressed with the strong turn of foot he displayed when winning at Lingfield last time out and I think he shown significant improvement. He should get a lovely toe into this again today and hopefully, the gaps come out the right time.

2:25 Sandown

The feature of the day comes up next, the Paddy Power Imperial Cup over the 2m distance. The horse I’ve landed on is CURRENT MOOD EW (14/1). I like front runners round Sandown especially if the ground is sticky and she’ll certainly be prominent throughout the race. She’s shown useful form throughout the season running consistently well in decent novice hurdles. She was a good winner at Chepstow last time out and she’s on an upward curve. She has a lovely racing weight of 10’7 and I fancy her to run a big one.

2:40 Wolves

The 2:40 from Wolves is the Lady Wulfrana Stakes, a listed contest ran over 7f. My selection is the Andrew Balding trained HAPPY POWER (9/2). I horse that should be well suited by a race of this nature and is arguably the classiest in the line up. I like that he’s had a pipe opener to blow the cobwebs away and hopefully he’s ready to run a big race now on his second start of the year.

3:00 Sandown

The 3:00 race is a bumper race restricted to Mares only. I like MULLENBEG NAP (6/4) here for the underrated Milton Harris stable. Again, she certainly has the strongest piece of form with her victory at Cheltenham last time out and you could argue this is a weaker race. She has the experience in the book and is improving with each start. A worthy favourite in my book.

3:35 Sandown

The finale on ITV is a novices handicap chase over the intermediate 2m4f trip. The horse I like is DANNY KIRWAN NB (11/4). A horse that’s always been highly thought of despite not bringing out to the track on multiple occasions. However, he should be capable of following up his Kempton success with a victory here. This 2m4f trip is his best trip in my opinion and if he jumps like he did at Kempton I think he’ll lead all the way.
