1:50 Goodwood
The opener on Friday is the longest race of the week. It’s a 2m4f handicap and it’s a wide open renewal. At the time of writing the market leader is The Grand Visir at 8/1! My selection is JUST HUBERT EW (11/1). Winner of this race last year off a 1lb higher mark, he has been disappointed since but I’m sure this will have always been his number one aim for the season. Returning to this track will hopefully see him return to form and I don’t think the race is any deeper than the one he won last year. The race will suit him well here as Just Hubert likes to come from off the pace and there is a lot of front runners lining up here so you’d expect a strong pace to aim at. He’s a fair each way price in a wide open race.2:25 Goodwood
The 2:25 race is a Group 3 race over the 1m trip. The one for me here is BAAEED (8/11). He’s looked a real star in winning his first three career starts. Albeit he didn’t beat much in his first two starts but he stepped up on that to win a decent Listed contest last time out beating some useful yardsticks. I don’t think this race is any harder than his last race on paper and this son of Sea The Stars can continue his progression to the top.3:00 Goodwood
The Unibet Golden Mile is next up at Goodwood and it’s another tricky handicap for punters to try and solve. The one I like in this RHOSCOLYN EW (10/1). This 3 year-old has shown real progression throughout the season including winning three on the spin in May this year. One of them wins was here at Goodwood on similar soft ground which is encouraging for today given the unique nature of the track. He was a good second in a Listed race on his latest start and now returns to a handicap with Oisin Murphy booked.3:35 Goodwood
The 3.35 race is the feature on Day 4 and it’s the Group 2 King George Qatar Stakes over the 5f trip where we see the great Battaash trying to make amends for his Royal Ascot defeat. However, I prefer the chances of SUESA (NAP) (11/1) here. He looked impeccable winning her first four career starts all at Chantilly. She then went to Royal Ascot and she was a well backed favourite to win the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup there. However, things didn’t go to plan that day on heavy ground but I’m happy to draw a line through that effort and give her another chance at what looks a really generous price dropping to Group 2 company.[akurai_table reviews=”7174″ terms=”long” lazy_logo=”true”]
4:10 Goodwood
The final race on ITV on Friday is a Group 3 contest over the 1m4f trip where the enigma that is Mogul heads the market at around 11/4. My selection is PASSION AND GLORY (NB) (9/2). He has shown significant improvement winning his last two starts in handicap company by a distance of 4l and 6l. The last victory at Ascot really caught the eye and I think he deserves his chance in Group 3 company. He is clearly thriving at the moment and he’s ridden by a jockey that is clear thriving in Oisin Murphy so I’m hopeful they’ll make a potent combination in the finale on ITV here.Glorious Goodwood Bookies Sign-up Offers
